Biography
Betty Harwood, daughter of Thomas Harwood and Janet Fielding. (Jennett in the baptism record) , born 3 March 1824, was baptised on 15 Jun 1824 at Over Darwen Lower Chapel Independent, Blackburn, Lancashire, England. [1]
Betty came to Western Australia with her parents on the James, arriving on 8 May 1830.[2]
She married William Shipard in 1844 in Fremantle.[3] They had four children in Western Australia before departing on 11 September 1853 per Gil Blas for South Australia.[2]
