Zechariah Harwood served with Civil Service, Vermont Republic during the American Revolution.

"Zechariah himself fought in the battle of Bennington, Vt 16 August 1777. [1]

He had charge of a pest-house at Bennington, where persons suffering from small pox were isolated from the community. He seemed to have a peculiar skill in the management of this dreaded disease." [2]
