DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
Hash-6 is a mess. I have asked a profile manager to help, so if anyone is available to look this over it would be great. This John Hash should be the 2nd John son of John James "Old John" [hash-5]. b. more likely 1760 and death 1844, possibly. He appears to have been in Sangamon, Illinois (he appears to be enumerated with a wife in 1830 census when 1794 John [Hash-439] was already dead. His parents should be John [hash-5] and Rebecca Elizabeth Anderson. There a couple of genealogies, but nothing easily accessible with fully believable info, (one possible tree -- https://www.geni.com/people/Capt-John-Hash/6000000003221375139 ) but what is clear is that this entry has combined the two Johns of Old John and given the wrong mothers. Elizabeth Sturgill probably died in 1745, she may have been a very young bride. They had one son, John (1744-1842). Rebecca Elizabeth Anderson is the 2nd wife. She lived from 1720-1763 and had 8 children.
Hash-6 and Hash-187 appear to represent the same person because: Same father; close birthdates; same birthplace. Same wife. Same death date and place. Mother needs to be resolved before merge.
Hash-92 and Hash-6 appear to represent the same person because: I presume the death date of 1842 is correct, but otherwise the two profiles are very similar.
Hash-92 and Hash-6 appear to represent the same person because: The Database Errors Project shows that these two profiles are for the same person. Please merge, so that the report may be reconciled.
Thank you, Lynden Rodriguez
