Josiah served in the Revolutionary War in 1775 as lieutenant of minutemen at the Lexington Alarm [5][6] and as lieutenant in Capt. Isaac Gates 4th Company, Col. Asa Whitcomb's Regiment, that marched on the April 19th, 1775 alarm to Cambridge and returned 28 Apr 1775.[1][2][7][8][9][10][11]
Lieutenant Josiah Haskell served with 5th Massachusetts Bay Provincial Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Mary Haskell died in 1798 and Josiah married, as his second wife, Elizabeth Reed, after their intention was filed on 26 Nov 1801 in Harvard, Massachusetts.[1][2][12][13]
Josiah died on 19 May 1819 in Harvard, Massachusetts[14] and was buried at Harvard Center Cemetery, Harvard, Worcester Co., Massachusetts.[1][2][15]
