Biography

Joseph Haskell, the son of Wiilliam Haskell and Mary Brown, was born on 20 or 21 Apr 1672/73[1][2] in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.[3][4][5]

Joseph married Rachel Elwell, on 19 Mar 1695/96 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.[3][5] Joseph and Rachel had the following children, all born in Gloucester:[1][2][3][6][7]

  1. Rachel, b. 13 Mar 1696/97;
  2. Joseph, b. 16 Dec 1698, d. 7 Aug 1791;
  3. Abraham, b. 8 Mar 1700/01, d. after 1732;
  4. Hannah, b. 28 Jun 1703;
  5. Moses, b. 25 Dec 1705, d.young;
  6. Stephen, b. 7 Jul 1708, d.young;
  7. Andrew, b. 6 Dec 1711, d.before May 1765;
  8. Jeremiah, b. 23 Oct 1714, d.20 Jun 1786.

Joseph Haskell died on 11 Apr 1718 in Gloucester, Essex, Massachusetts.[3][5][8] In his will, he directed that his son, Moses, should "learn the trade and mystery of a cooper".[1][2]
