Shoshanna Jordan Hastings was born on June 30, 1970. ^{[1] [2]} Her parents were Shel Silverstein and Susan Taylor Hastings. ^[2]

She lived in an apartment with her mother in Sausalito, Marin County, California. ^[2]

After her mother died she lived with her aunt and uncle, Meg and Curtis Marshall. ^[3]

She died on April 24, 1982 at her grandparent's house in Baltimore, Maryland. ^{[1] [4]} She died from a brain aneurysm. ^[4]
