Anne was born in 1798 in Ireland. Published sources indicate that Anne accompanied her parents to America about the year 1820. She immigrated without a husband but she possibly had been married in Ireland (to Thomas Black) and was a widow. Anne became the second wife of George Carrothers in 1828 and was the mother of 5 children. She passed away in 1886.
