Lou Etta (Hasty) Shepherd was born on 23 Jul 1886 in Smith County Tennessee, daughter of Calvin Hasty (1850 - 1931) and Malinda Caroline (Davis) Hasty (1853 - 1947).
Lou married John Mayfield Shepherd (~1873 - 1928) on 1 Apr 1905 in Wilson County, Tennessee.[1]

In the 1910 census Louella (age 22) was the wife of John M Shepherd in Civil District 3, Davidson, Tennessee, United States.[3] John M Shepherd 36, wife Louella Shepherd 22, son Jessie T Shepherd 4, daughter Lillie May Shepherd 0.
In the 1920 census Lou (age 32) was the wife of James Shepherd in Davidson, Tennessee, United States.[4] James Shepherd 47, wife Lou Shepherd 32, son Jesse L Shepherd 13, daughter Lillie Mae Shepherd 10, daughter Annie B Shepherd 9, son John D Shepherd 7, daughter Gladys M Shepherd 2.
In the 1930 census Louetta (age 39) was the widowed mother-in-law of David O Holleman in District 03, Davidson, Tennessee, United States.[5] David O Holleman 28, wife Annie B Holleman 19, daughter Catherine F Holleman 7, son William D Holleman 0, mother-in-law Louetta Shepherd 39, brother-in-law John D Shepherd 18, sister-in-law Gladys M Shepherd 12, sister-in-law Helen A Shepherd 9, sister-in-law Sarah R Shepherd 7, sister-in-law Lelia E Shepherd 6.
In the 1940 census Louetta (age 49) was the widowed head of household in Civil District 10, Wilson, Tennessee, United States.[6] Louetta Sheppard 49, daughter Lelia Elizabeth Sheppard 16, mother Caline Hastings 86.
Lou died in Feb 1971 in Nashville Davidson Tennessee aged ~84. She is buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum, Nashville, Tennessee.[7][8]
