You manage a number of profiles of Swedish women who lived at the time when gendered patronymics were in use; they have last names ending in -son when it should be -dotter. I have attempted to source them and I have given them their correct "current name". However, in order to correct their Last Name at Birth, I need to be on the trusted list (which I asked for on Dec 22; I think that was the second time). I would be happy to be able to finish this - and equally happy if you choose to correct them yourself.
Wikitree's Relationship Finder says that Albertus and Tony Hatch are 11th cousins twice removed, both being descendants of Alice (Hunt) Welles. There are 250 common ancestors between Albertus and Tony. That is on my mother's side. So for now, at least, we do know that you and I (and my brothers) are 11th Cousins twice removed. However, because of the close degree of our DNA match at FTDNA, we must have a much more recent Most Recent Common Ancestor than Alice Hunt. Our task before us now is to try to search and find that more recent Most Recent Common Ancestor couple! Regards, your 11th cousin Albertus (Bert)
Hi! I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.
If you have a FamilyTreeDNA test, please also join our new WikiTree DNA group project from your FTDNA account page for your kit number. You can join as many FTDNA projects as you believe will help your research, so we hope you will join our FTDNA WikiTree project: https://www.familytreedna.com/public/WikiTree
Hi Tony, Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree community. Please note we are trying to build one collaborative tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the
Help section or head over to the G2G forum. You might also want to check out the introductory
WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
I'd like to continue and share the extensive work done by my mother, father, sister, and many others. There are also a few 'brick walls' that I am keen to break through. I have ordered 3 DNA tests that I would like to share as well.
I am willing to collaborate in order to get my branch into the tree, ensure its accuracy, and help others with common ancestors.
I recognize this will take plenty of work--but I believe the end goal will be worth it.
2. Our help pages, top right, have all sorts of useful information.
If you would like to contribute, click the volunteer button and leave a comment here on your profile to let our greeters know.
You should include a little bit about how you plan to contribute to the tree.
If so, please would you send me the ancestry of Florence Bruce. - hatch 2378
Many thanks
