Biography

Harry Hatfield operated a store in Simonds, as did his father and grandfather before him. According to an interview with him in a local paper the store was one of the first frame houses along the St. John river. Goods were brought from Fredericton by boats which were towed by horses on a trail along the shore. Harry ran the store until 1977 when he retired.
