Biography

Andrew Lewis Hatfield was born September 3, 1814 in Virginia, United States. He was a son of Adam S. Hatfield (1774-1855) and Mary Williams Hatfield (1782-1847). On April 3, 1836 in Cabell County, Virginia, he married Mary Frances Pinnell (1818-1887), daughter of James Pinnell and Phoebe Boggess Pinnell. Mary's sister, Amanda B. Pinnell, had previously married John Thomas Hatfield, brother of Andrew Lewis Hatfield.
