Biography

Thomas Hathaway; son of Thomas Hathaway and Margaret Maxfield, was born on 27 May 1733 in Berkley, Bristol, Massachusetts, where he married first on 26 Apr 1755 Phebe Hudson; daughter of John Hudson and Hannah Babbitt, and where they had 4 children: [1]

  • Hannah Hathaway b. 14 Sep 1755,
  • Rachel Hathaway b. 02 Jan 1758,
  • Thomas Hathaway b. 17 Mar 1760,
  • Silence Hathaway b. 05 Oct 1761.

After the death of first wife Phebe, Thomas married as his second wife widow Hannah (Ramsden) Richmond on 15 Sep 1763 at Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts.

After their marriage in 1763, Thomas and Hannah Hathaway lived in Berkley, Bristol, Massachusetts, where their four children were born and listed after the birth of Samuel Richmond; son of Hannah (Ramsden) Richmond before her marriage to Thomas Hathaway: [2]

  • Samuel Richmond b. 22 Jan 1756,
  • Enos Hathaway b. 29 Apr 1764,
  • Phebe Hathaway b. 14 May 1766,
  • Jerusha Hathaway b. 28 Dec 1768,
  • Thankful Hathaway b. 14 Apr 1770.

After moving to Brookfield, Worcester, Massachusetts where Thomas died on 14 Jul 1819, [3] Hannah lived with her son Enos Hathaway in Windsor, Berkshire, Massachusetts, where she died after the 1820 US Census. [4] [5]
