Biography
Rufus was born in 1840. He is the son of John Hatherley and Matilda Pringle.
During the 1860 Census, he was living with his sister Matilda and brother-in-law George Nelson (Georgetown, Ottawa County, Michigan). In the 1870 Census for Flint, Genesee County, Michigan, and in the same county in the 1880 Census. During the 1900 Census, he is show living in District 84, Commerce, Oakland, Michigan.
He married (1st) 28 August 1865 to Anna F. Bendle, and they had 7 children; married (2nd) 12 September 1884 to Sarah Amity (Beers) Hanbley (1856-1907); married (3rd) 19 November 1911 to Lillian Ella Blackmer, and they had one child.
