On 19 Sep 1839 in Greene County, Tennessee, William Huff married Maria Thompson (16 Feb 1820 Tennessee - 2 Jun 1881). At times, Maria was recorded as Mariah. They were married by Samuel Gregg, M.G. The minister who solemnized the marriage may have been the Samuel Gregg, son of John Gregg, who served as the first pastor of Meadow Creek Presbyterian Church from 1837-1843.[1]
