Biography

Jacob Havner was born about 1836 in Tennessee.[1][2][3][4]

He married Ardena Jane "Janie" Martin[5][6][1] about 1858[4][2][3] and the couple had the following known children:

  1. James[3] Allen Havner was born about 1864 in Tennessee.[1]
  2. Cyrus Havner was born about 1866 in Tennessee.[1][3]
  3. George W. Havner was born about 1868 in Tennessee.[1][3]
  4. Mary D. Havner was born Sep[4] 1873 in Tennessee.[1] She died 11 Oct 1935 in Madison County, Tennessee.[6]
  5. Sarah C. Havner was born Sep 1873[7] in Tennessee.[1]
  6. Martha E. Havner was born about 1874 in Tennessee.[1]
  7. Katie Lou Havner was born 18 May 1875 in Tennessee and died 18 Nov 1963 in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.[5][1]
  8. Robert Havner was born Jan 1881 in Tennessee.[4]

Jacob served in Company B, 51st Regiment of Tennessee Infantry, Confederate States Army, during the Civil War.[8][9][10]

He filed for a pension for his military service in 1903 and according to the widow's pension application of Ardena in the 1920s, Jacob served in the Confederate States Army in Company B, 51st Regiment of Tennessee Infantry and that on 22 Jul 1864 he was wounded in a fight at Atlanta, Georgia by a shot through his right arm, shoulder and lung, that he was discharged from service in 1865 at Raleigh, North Carolina.[10]

Jacob died 23 Sep 1905 in Madison County, Tennessee.[10]
