HARRY HAWKER was born in south Caulfield Victoria and would work for his cousin Bob Chamberlian (Chamberlain Tractors). It was at ABC that he was called "Sunny Jim" and became known as "Jim".
He jointed the RAAF during the war, however, he had eye problems and was not able to fly. Most of the war he spent as ground crew and mechanic.
After the war he helped Bob in the RED-X motor trials as a recovery driver in one of the Chamberlain Tractors covering over twice the distance of the trial course. Harry bout a four wheel drive racing car of Bob and with a few modifications was to race it in up hill trials.
He was able to attented the re-dedication of his Uncles memorial at Moorabbin Airport in 1989
