Stephen Hawkins was born in Hampshire, England.

Stephen, son of Stephen Hawkins, was baptised on 25 February 1770 in Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England.[1]

Stephen married Sarah Biggs on 25 May 1791 in Saint Thomas, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.[2]

Stephen married Esther Gray on 15 June 1812 in Saint Marys, Portsea, Hampshire, England.[3]

In 1834, Stephen was granted a patent:

To S. Hawkins, of Milton-house, near Portsmouth, for improvements in warming pans, for warming beds,[4]

Stephen died in about 1847 and was buried on 10 December 1847 in Portsmouth, Southampton, Hampshire, England.[5]
