I remember visiting Lena in the 1970's at her country restaurant in Murphy, NC. She was a very small-boned woman with beautiful snow-white hair. And so kind. She treated us to a special meal and made us feel special. It was hard leaving her. I wanted to stay and talk to her all day altho I was only fourteen. We went on our merry way after that and ended up in the strangest place. It is called 'Field of the Woods.' The 10 Commandments of Burger Mtn. in Murphy, N.C. Us six (6) kids walked all the way to the top of the 'hill.' It is very strange indeed. It was like we had discovered another world. No one was there that day except us. I think mom let us loose to burn off some energy. https://cogop.org/fow/
