Joseph was born in 1865. He was the son of Lewis Hawk and Alcie Pritchett. He is listed on the Cherokee Nation Census of 1880 with his Father Lewis Hawkins and brother Jackson Hawkins. Interesting it shows the farm having 40 acres fenced with 6 Cattle, 35 Hogs and 6 Horses. Crops are Corn, Wheat and Fruit Trees. He passed away Feb 27 1933 and is buried at Moodys Cemetery in Cherokee County.
