When Newton C Hawkins was born on 15 August 1849, in Monroe, Tennessee, United States, his parents were Ephraim Calvin Hawkins and Mary Polly Gentry.
In 1860, Newton was ten (10) years old living with his parents and four (4) siblings and a grandmother in Madisonville, Monroe, United States.[1]
In 1870, the family moved to Hopewell Springs, Monroe, Tennessee, United States.[2]
He married Hettie Matilda Bivens on 17 March 1872, in Tennessee, United States.[3]
They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters.[4]
In 1880, Newton and Hettie lived in Belltown, Monroe, Tennessee, United States with three (3) children. Newton was a farmer.[5]
He lived in Civil District 16, Greene, Tennessee, United States in 1900[6] and Civil District 4, Monroe, Tennessee, United States in 1920.[7]
He died on 21 December 1932, in Monroe, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 83, and was buried in Antioch Baptist Church, Vonore, Monroe, Tennessee, United States.[8]
