On 26 August 1723 and then on 31 August 1725, Lois petition the Superior Court at Fairfield for a divorce from John Obertus alias Hubbard. She had discovered that her husband was also married to a woman in Philadelphia and had children.[1]
On 24 February 1724/25, she exhibited an account of her late husband, Samuel Wheeler's estate. She mentioned that funds she received from Ebenezer Riggs' estate for the guardianship of the children were carried to the estate of Samuel Wheeler. The court ordered that it be deducted, and the estate distributed.[2]
