Hi, Elizabeth Giles daughter (not sure about step-daughter) of Richard and Margaret Arnold Giles(could be type on name-leave to you to check) Thomas and Elizabeth Giles announced their intention of marriage first at West River MM, then about one month later at Cliff MM at Calvert Co. Md. at home of Richard Jones 24 Jan. 1703 or 1704? Marriage at home of Wm.Richardson Quaker home. Thomas' nephew, John Hawkins (born 1724 died 1799) who was living first in Nc then moved on to Abbeville, SC. is on the guest list for this wedding--this John Hawkins second marriages was to Rebecca Emerson. It has been proved by DNA and this John Hawkins of Abbeville, SC. by signature and mark, was close relative to Thomas. This John Hawkins of Abbeville, SC is son of John Hawkins b. ca. 1660, who was son of John Hawkins, the Mariner with wife of Mary unknown. John of Abbeville, SC. came and signed documents along with his mother, Rebecca, after his father died. He signed his name and mark.
Does anyone have any information on son of Thomas and Elizabeth son, Joseph???? in 1735 he was living in Ann A. Co. MD. but anything else? Joseph born 19 of June or April of 1708, was living in Ann A. Co. MD. in 1735. (deducted from Will dates)
Feel free to go ahead and make changes here when you have sources to back them up.
It also looks to me that Elizabeth Arnold and Elizabeth Arnell are probably the same person and should be merged. You can document the difference in birth dates in the biography until a definitive source is found. You might even want to make a note about the difference in spellings in case something turns up later to indicate that an Elizabeth Arnell did exist -- I have a feeling it's probably a transcription mistake of some sort, though.
Research on the page for Elizabeth Giles indicates she married Thomas Hawkins and Elizabeth Arnell married Jacob Giles, her brother. The women named Arnell & Arnold should be removed as spouses.
Looks like the name of his wife needs to change. The marriage record give her name as Elizabeth Giles and she must have been the step-daughter of Richard Arndell.
Hawkins-4129 and Hawkins-263 appear to represent the same person because: Same age & location with different wives, but both wives are apparently incorrect. He married Elizabeth Giles
Thomas Hawkins will dated 7 Aug. 1715 DOES NOT mention any daughter Elizabeth. Thomas wife was Elizabeth Giles daughter of Richard Giles and Margaret Arnold Giles.
