Biography
Virginia was born in 1811. She is understood to be the daughter of Benjamin Hawkins and Susannah Lavinia (Downs) Hawkins. Virginia married William Austin Carr, II. In 1850 they are enumerated on the federal census in Yalobusha County, Mississippi. [1] Virginia died in 1851. [2]
Slaves
Virginia was a slave owner. She inherited ten enslaved persons from the estate of her brother James. See Slaves of James Madison Hawkins
