Biography

Elizabeth was born in 1831. She was the daughter of Edward Simeon Hawkins and Elizabeth Amelia Goodwyn.

Christening Place: Barrackpore, Bengal, India^[1]

At the age of 19 she married 21 year old John Robert Ward (son of Henry Baynes Ward) on 15 February 1850 at Calcutta, Bengal, India.^[2]

They had four children before her husband passed away in 1857.

Census Date 1861: Recorded in Battery Place, St Faith, Hampshire, England with her four children Emily, Grace, John and Henry, and two servants. Aged 29 and a widow.

Occupation: Annuitant

She married, secondly, widower Edwin Russ on 17 September 1867 at St. Michael, Ryde, Hampshire, England.^[3]

Census Date 1871: Living with her husband, two daughters Emily and Grace, one stepson and two sons, and five servants in Week, Hampshire, England. Aged 35. Her husband was a Wine Merchant.

By 1891 the family were recorded in Hyde Street, Winchester, Hampshire, England. Elizabeth was now 57 years of age.

Elizabeth passed away in 1909.^[4]
