Biography

Thomas HAWLEY was born 30 Jul 1678 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT. He died 6 May 1722 and was buried in Old Stratfield Cemetery, Bridgeport, Fairfield, CT.

Thomas married 5, Johanna BOOTH on Oct 1701 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT. Johanna was a widow when she married Thomas.

  1. Ebenezer was born on June 11, 1703 in Stratford, CT. He died by 1761 when his mother's probate document names his children; his wife's surname is not known.
  2. Mary was born Sept. 11,1705 in Stratford, CT and was christened on Oct. 14, 1705. She died young, before 1712.
  3. Elizabeth was christened on Dec. 22, 1706 and died on July 12, 1731. She married Peter Judson.
  4. Thomas was christened on Feb. 27, 1708/09 in Stratford, CT. Probably died young since his father's will says he has a grave disease and is very infirm in 1722.
  5. Ezra was born May 15, 1711 in Stratford. He died April 27, 1773 in Stratford.
  6. Mary was born Jan. 16, 1712/13 and died April 4, 1740. She married Peter Walker.
  7. Hannah was born May 15, 1715 and died April 9, 1742. She married Elnathan Hall.
  8. Hester was born June 30, 1717 in Stratford and was christened on July 17, 1717. She died on April 27, 1773 in Trumbull, CT. She married Joseph Sterling.
  9. Samuel was born April 15, 1719. He was not named in his mother's probate. He died in 1749.[2]
  10. Katherine was born on February 19, 1721/22 in Stratford. She married William Bennett.

His will is dated 2 May 1722 and proved on 11 June 1722 in Fairfield.[3] His inventory was taken on 19 June 1722.[4]

The distribution of his estate was made on 21 April 1736 and recorded at Fairfield.[5]
