"He was a merchant and manufacturer; resided in Brooklyn, N. Y., Danbury, Conn., and Brookfield Center. He established the Mission Chapel at Brookfield Iron Works in 1865, and 1883 organized the Union Hall Mission on White Street, Danbury, Conn., which he conducted for fifteen years. He was one of the early friends and contributors to the Northfield Schools founded by Dwight L. Moody of East Northfield, Mass., and a loyal supporter of the Prohibition Party in Connecticut."
