Elizabeth Hawley was born on 26 January 1651 in Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut Colony.[1][2] Her parents were Joseph and Katherine Hawley.
This Elizabeth is not to be confused with Elizabeth Hawley, the sister of Joseph, who married Richard Booth about 1640, in Stratford. See for example:[3]
On June 7, 1670 at Stratford, she married John Chapman of Say-Brook, Connecticut,[4]the oldest son of Robert Chapman the first settler who came from Hull in England to Boston in August, 1635.[3][1]
Elizabeth (Hawley) Chapman died May 10, 1676.[1]
On March 26, 1677 John Chapman married Elizabeth Beaman at Saybrook, Connecticut.[4]
