Thomas Hawley came to America with his brother Joseph in 1629 from Parwich, Derbyshire, England. Joseph moved to Stratford, Conn. and Thomas moved to Roxbury, MA. He was married to Emma Hawley and had one son Thomas born on 08 Oct 1651 and died in child birth. His wife Emma died 11 Nov 1651. Thomas married again to Dorothy Harbittle Lamb and had four children. Thomas was an earlier settler in Roxbury, MA and was slain by Native American Indians while serving with Captain Wardsworth at Sudbury, MA on 21 April 1676. Thomas and his brother, Joseph came to America on a ship in the Winthrop fleet. One of these ships was the Mayflower on its second trip to the New World.[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Besides Joseph Hawley, Thomas had siblings Elizabeth (Hawley) Booth and Hannah (Hawley) Beard. I have a descent from Elizabeth and I have cleaned up her profile and left research notes explaining the highly probable sibling relationships. PGM has likewise updated Joseph's profile and has left copious notes there. It would be helpful to establish a consistent narrative for the siblings. Following PGM's research, Thomas' "parents" should be disconnected (see Joseph's profile). It would be useful to have an Unknown Hawley as the father, so Thomas, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Hannah could appear as siblings. There are no records supporting Grace, Robert, or Miriam as siblings of Thomas, but they could remain attached to the current "parents" pending research on their profiles.
Note that the Hannah (Hawley-88) attached to this Thomas as a sibling is a duplicate for Hawley-581. I have requested a merger of those profiles. Hawley-581 is basically correct.
If it helps Gregg P. and others to take the lead on resorting these Hawley Profiles, I will detach this Thomas Hawley’s parents as requested. Perhaps adding an unknown Hawley as father ( with research notes that it might be a Mathew) will work for aligning the siblings.
Thanks, Sandy. I created the father profile and it is linked to this profile. If you have research notes for the possible identity of the father, please add them to the Unknown Hawley profile. I have attached Elizabeth and Hannah as well. Since Joseph is PGM they will attach Joseph.
I took the liberty of adding the Torrey marriage records to Thomas' profile. I included the references that he used, which can be useful aids to further research.
