Elizabeth was born abt 1841 in Ireland. Her parents were Alexander and Sarah Hawthorn.

She married William Bartley on 15 Jul 1865 in County Down, Ireland. Her father was Alexander Hawthorn. His father was John Bartley. Witnesses were James Hawthorn and Mary Hunter.^[1]

In the 1901 census Elizabeth (age 48) was the wife of William Bartley on Mersey Street, Victoria, Down, Ireland. Living with them as boarders were Maggie Hawthorn (age 16) and John Hawthorn (age 28)^[3]

In the 1911 census Elizabeth (age 71) was the wife of William Barkley in Down, Ireland.^[4]

Her husband, William, died on 26 Aug 1911 at Welland St, Victoria, County Down, Ireland. Elizabeth was a witness on his death record.^[5]
