Biography

When Ernest Ray Hawthorne was born on November 5, 1899, in Gordon, Georgia, his father, Robert Sidwell Hawthorne, was 43 and his mother, Mary Ella Frances King, was 34. He married Lillian Rebecca McCullar and they had two children together. He then married Rosa Lee May and they had one son together. He died on January 30, 1971, in his hometown at the age of 71, and was buried at Hardies Chapel, Jones County, Georgia.[1]
