Biography
Samuel was born in 1892 in Ballymoney, Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland, the son of John Hawthorn, a sailor, and Susan McIlwain. His birth was registered by Catherine Purdy of Ballymoney.[1] He was baptised on 26-Jun-1892 in 1st Islandmagee Presbyterian Church.[2]
In 1928 he married Margaret Jane Millar in Islandmagee, County Antrim.[3]
He passed away in 1959 age 67. Samuel was a Mariner/Farmer. He played the Fiddle. Samuel was a night watchman in Belfast Docks c1955-1959. He is Interred in St. Johns C.O.I. Cemetery, Islandmagee
At time of Samuels death he resided at "Laurel Place", Upper Gransha, Islandmagee. Admin to his wife - effects £587-9-0.
