Eve Ann Hay was born in 1782,[1] Berkeley Co, VA

In 1801 (when she was 19 years old) her father sold his land in Virginia and moved the family (including his married children) to Fairfield County, Ohio (which had been created in Dec, 1800). He bought land just north of the village of Amanda (south of Columbus). There she met and married Jacob Leathers in 1803. That same year her father died.

Sometime before 1820 Jacob and Eve moved north to Wayne County, Ohio (south of Cleveland). (Her brother Jonathan was in Wayne County by 1818, so they may have been also). They had 5 children there.
About 1833 they moved to Wood County, Ohio (south of Toledo). Their 2 youngest children were born there.
They also owned land in Kosciusko Co, IN (NW of Ft. Wayne)

Between 1840 and 1843 they moved west to Richland Co, IL with their 2 youngest children, Silas and Mary Ann, following their son William who had moved there a few years earlier. They owned land SE of Claremont.

Jacob died Mar 23, 1843 in Richland Co, IL

In 1850 Eve Ann was in Richland Co, IL with unmarried son, Silas. 1850 IL census, Richland Co, Clay & Richland dist, p 163 Leathers, Eve A. - 70 PA . . . . . Silas - 25 OH

In 1855 (state census) Eve Ann was living in Richland Co. near William; her unmarried son Silas was living with her; daughter Mary Ann was already married.

In 1860 she was living with Silas & his wife Marinda.

Eve Ann died in 1861, Richland Co, IL. Buried Mt. Olive Cemetery[2]
