Elizabeth Hayden was born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania on 5 Jun 1900. She was the sixth of eight children born to Harry Hayden and Fannie Jackson. Her mother died when she was a toddler, so she and her siblings were raised by their maternal grandmother, Rachel Jackson.
On 24 Dec 1916 she married Walter Shoemaker in Wilkes-Barre. The wedding ceremony was performed by Rev. B. L. Romberger.[1] They raised one daughter, Marjorie. Walter died in 1939. After Marjorie married, Tiny moved in with her and her husband, Ralph Hittinger. She outlived both of them, and spent her last few years at the Gracedale County Home in Upper Nazareth Township, Northampton, Pennsylvania. She died on 23 Apr 1997[2] and is buried in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Allentown, Lehigh, Pennsylvania. [3]
