Amanda was born in 1844. She passed away before 1930.
Edward Owens was born in Wales and came to Prince Edward Island when a young man. He married Amanda Hayes [article says b. Ireland, emigrated to PEI but that was probably her father]. They married in Canada and came to Soldier Valley by Wagon in 1876.
They had children Charlotte, who never married; Amy (Mrs Maurice Schofield), Clara, who never married; Agnes (Mrs William Lacey) and Jesse, who married Mary Peet. Two cousins, Evan and Anna Williams came with the Owens family and lived with the Owens. Neither married. Thomas and John Foulks, also cousins, came too and bought land adjoining the Owens' land.
