William Hayes came free to the Colony of Victoria (1851-1900)
William Hayes was involved in events associated with the Eureka Rebellion at Ballarat.
William B Hayes was born about 1848 near Dublin, Ireland. He was the son of Timothy Hayes and Anastasia Butler who were two of the main characters in the Story of Eureka Stockade.
The family, Dad, Mum & 5 children, later immigrated to Melbourne, Australia arriving 1852 on the ship 'Mobile'. [1]
William would have been a witness to the Eureka Stockade events, although then aged 6 years.
He passed away in 1881 at Picton district, New South Wales [2].
