DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
Hi Dianne, on 15 Aug 2018 you commented on the name of Ellen Usley Murfitt. Her Usley middle name comes from her mother's mother, Mary Ann Topp who was nee Usley. I assume that the numerous other spellings of the name Usley are mistakes. When Ellen Usley Murfitt married Thomas Smith in NZ, her middle name, Usley, was very clearly written and was spelt Usley. I hope that helps. Kind regards.
Hayhoe-58 and Hayhoe-36 appear to represent the same person because: Same dates, but I have used Murfet as the spelling of her husband's name and you have used Murfit. (I have also seen Murfett, Murfitt and Murfeit...)
Hello, thanks for your comment. This is my husband's line. He did genetic testing with Ancestry and they have made DNA circles for the descendants of Richard and Elizabeth. So far there are 37 people in the circle for Richard, only 30 for Elizabeth because people don't put as much effort into identifying their female ancestors... You need a genetic match and a tree that goes back to your mutual common ancestor to get into a circle. 13 people in the circle descend from Ellen's parents, John Murfet and Mary Ann Topp. It looks like her name started off as Ellen Ursula and then somehow got changed to Usley - don't know what happened there. Please fill in your lines, I just tried to do a general outline and then leave it up to people to add in their own family lines. Cheers, Dianne
