Colonel William Leftwich (Augustine, Sr., Thomas, Sr., Ralph), b. 1737, d. May 31, 1820 in Bedford County, Va., married Elizabeth Haynes, cir. 1757. She was a daughter of William Haynes and his wife Elizabeth, who left a will dated April 8,1780, probated June 25,1781, in Bedford County, Va. (W. B. “E,” p. 197). He was a private in the Bedford County, Va., Colonial Militia in 1758. (Hening’s Statutes, Vol. VII, p. 25).
