Katherine was a beneficiary of the will of her grandmother, Alice (Judde) Smythe, the will made on 10 Jul 1592[1].

Katherine was noted on the memorial to her father, Sir Rowland Hayward, at St Alphage, City of London[2].

She married firstly Richard Scott[3] and secondly Sir Richard Sondes of Throwley, Kent[4].

There were two children recorded from the marriage with Richard Scott: Elizabeth and Mary[4], although Thomas Scott was also most probably a son of Katherine and Richard.

Katherine was noted in the will of her mother, Lady Katherine (Smythe) Scott, the will made in Jan 1616/1617, as Lady Sonds[5].

Katherine was recorded in the Visitation of Kent in 1619 as the wife of Sir Richard Sonds of Throwley, Kent. The Children of the marriage noted were Catherine, Michael, Rowland, Thomas, Michael and John[6].

Katherine was recorded in the Stemmata Chicheleana, a pedigree of the Chichele family, her Chichele Ancestry being derived from her great great great grandmother Philippa Chichele[7]. The Pedigree recorded five children of her marriage with Sir Richard 'Sands' of Throwley, Kent, namely Michael, Thomas, Rowland, Catherine and Martha.
