He married Elizabeth Wakeley 11 Oct 1802 in Wrockwardine, Shropshire, England. He was a witness to his father-in-law's will which was proved in 1811. About this time, Richard moved his family to Monmouthshire, Wales. Children Mary, Martha, and Richard were all born in Wales.
