His official death record from GRO and his burial record give his age as 74 years. That gives him a birth year at about 1777. Richard Hayward, son of Phillip and Hannah Hayward was baptized 20 Sep 1778 at All Saints, Wellington, Shropshire, England. He married Elizabeth Wakeley 11 Oct 1802 in Wrockwardine, Shropshire, England. He was a witness to his father-in-law's will which was proved in 1811. About this time, Richard moved his family to Monmouthshire, Wales. Children Mary, Martha, and Richard were all born in Wales.
