Research Notes

From his birth record:

Zepheniah Son of Abigail Hayward ([transient] person)
born in Mendon as she saith on the 18th Day of March of 1746
and on request of [said] Abigail was entered in Mendon record

Based on this record, it is likely that Zephaniah was born out of wedlock. He later adopts Abigail's husbands surname, Rogers, however this may not be a blood relationship.

Paternal haplogroup likely R-L513

Hayward-2896 and Rogers-24269 appear to represent the same person because: The birth discrepancy is probably just the ambiguity of the start of the year. Otherwise the same.
