William Thomas was born about 1820 in Montrose, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada. [1] William registered a new vessel, "Kingston", 100 Tons with B Hayward in 1846.[2] William Haywood and Isobel Johnstone married on 28 Mar 1850. [3] William was a miller and also a farmer in Lot 5, Prince, Prince Edward Island, Canada from at least 1864 to 1891.[4][5][6][7][8][9] He is said to have owned 570 acres on the Mill & Tignish Rivers in Howlan. William was replaced as postmaster for Township No. 2 in 1867. [10] He died, maybe 12 Jul 1893 in Prince Edward Island, but his gravestone says at 72. His remains were buried in Montrose Presbyterian/United Church Cemetery, Lot 3-4. [11][12]
