Patricia was born in 1952. She passed away in 2016.
Head coach of the University of Tennessee women's basketball team from 1974 to 2012. She accrued 1,098 wins as coach, the most in basketball history. The Lady Vols basketball team under her direction won eight NCAA championships.
Summitt announced in August 2011 that she had early onset Alzheimer's.
