Ann (Healey) Digby was born in Coton, Northamptonshire, England.

Ann Healey was born in about 1836 in the hamlet of Coton, Ravensthorpe parish, Northamptonshire, England to Thomas Healey and Sarah (Timms) Healey.

Ann Healey, daughter of Thomas, a labourer, & Sarah, residing at Coton, was christened on 13 Aug 1837 at St Denys in Ravensthorpe.[1][2]

In 1841 Ann Hely (age 5) lived in Ravensthorpe with her father Thos (35-39), mother Sarah (30-34), sister Jane (6), brother William (1), and aunt Elizabeth Tims (25-29).[3]

In 1851 Ann Healey (age 14, Lacemaker) lived in the Hamlet of Coaton with her father Thomas (48, Ag Lab), mother Sarah (40), and brother William (11).[4]

Ann Healey married Samuel Digby in 1858. The marriage was registered in Hardingstone, Northamptonshire in the fourth quarter of the year.[5][6]

Ann and Samuel had six children:

  2. Sarah Ann Digby (1862-)
  3. Isabella Jane Digby (1863-1932)
  4. Samuel Digby (1871-1915)
  5. Jane Healey (Digby) Graves (1873-1917)
  6. Clara Digby (1878-)

In 1861 Ann Digby (age 24) lived at Silver Street in St Sepulchre, Northampton, Northamptonshire with her husband Samuel (25, Engineer), son Thomas W (1), brother William Healey (21, Labourer Farm), and two lodgers: John Braner (19, Labourer Farm) and Samuel Jennings (20, Labourer Farm).[7]

In 1871 Ann Digby (age 35) lived at 45 Birstall St in St Margaret, Leicester, Leicestershire with her husband Samuel (32, Engine Driver) and three children: Thomas Wm (11), Sarah Ann (9), and Isabel Jane (7), as well as four visitors: Elizabeth Rogers (40), Lizzie Rogers (9), William John Rogers (4), and Walter Rogers (1 month).[8]

In 1881 Ann Digby (age 44) lived at Overton Road in Humberstone, Leicestershire with her husband Samuel (44, Stoker Saw Yard) and six children: Thos W (21, Genl Lab), Sarah A (19, Hosiery Stitcher), Isabella (17, Hosiery Stitcher), Samuel (9, Scholar), Jane W (7, Scholar), and Clara (2), as well as her widowed mother Sarah Healey (60 [~70]).[9]

In 1891 Ann Digby (age 54) lived at Overton Road in Humberstone with her husband Samuel (54, Furnace Stoker), four children: Isabel (27, Shoe Machinist), Samuel (19, Coachman), Jane H (17, Shoe Machinist), and Clara (12), mother Sarah Healey (72 [~80]), and boarder Frank Purser (25, Baker).[10]

Ann's husband passed away in 1895.

In 1901 Ann Digby (age 64) lived at Victoria Road East in Leicester with three daughters: Sarah Ann (39, Shirt Machinist), Isabelle Jane (37, Shirt Machinist), and Clara (22, Skirt Machinist).[11]

Ann emigrated to Canada sometime before 1911 (her son Samuel emigrated in 1903, so she presumably went to join him).

Ann Digby passed away on 9 May 1919. She is buried at Springside Cemetery in Springside, Saskatchewan.[12]
