Im glad you found us. I just confirmed you as a member (once you sign the Honor Code, youll be a full member aka a Wiki Genealogist). I've found the best way to research my family in WikiTree is to post what I know and connect to existing profiles when I find them.
An important aspect of WikiTree is providing sources for information (even if its just "Aunt Louisa told me in 1984...") my profile page has a link to Sources Resources, where Ive tried to provide an overview of source information.
Give G2G or me a holler if you get stuck on anything, and thank you for joining our collaborative tree. Remember that our mission is to build a global tree with just one profile per person, so please look for duplicates before adding a profile.
You clicked on the volunteer button indicating that you would like to collaborate and add information. If thats correct please leave another comment here on your profile and one of the Greeters will be happy to add you as a member of WikiTree.
If you are just looking for family or other researchers working on the same names as yours, use the surname search function at the top of the profile page. You are welcome to do this as a guest.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please click the Volunteer link to receive your Volunteer badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in family history and wish to join us.
We will be very glad to welcome you to the WikiTree Community.
