Death

Death:
Date: 1873

There is some confusion regarding the correct Date of Death, as there are two entries (1873 and 1883) for "Sarah Corcoran". However, confirmation is gleaned from the 13 September 1873 Funeral Notice in the Sydney Morning Herald where Sarah's son in law Thomas Keefe is mentioned. [2] Confirmation as to the death date being 12 Sep 1873 from NSW BDM records. She was buried in the Catholic section of Rookwood cemetery on 15 Sep 1873 in the same grave as Mary A. DIBDEN (buried 16 Apr 1867 aged 2) and Charlotte DIBDEN (buried 29 Dec 1874).

From Rosalee Shaw (2008-12-29)
[Daughter] Sarah had very young siblings, and her mother [Sarah] re-married just 5 months later - to an ex-convict [Edward Corcoran] who was a constable. I thought perhaps because she needed the support and assistance of a husband to survive - but now I think that his role as constable might have saved her from being seen as part of the conspiracy = still looking in the Sydney Gazette for more clues here.
Sarah's quick 2nd marriage might reflect immaturity on the part of a teenager who grew up in a wild and lawless society (as did her first I think), god alone knows what her mother thought!

Healey-812 and Healey-30 appear to represent the same person because: The data is the same except for the confused Death Registrations - correct death date is 1873

Healey-812 and Healey-30 do not represent the same person because: The proposed death date of 1883 is incorrect as the ages do not match up. Sarah Bridget Healy, then Toole, finally Corcoran, died around 13-14 Sep 1873 and was initially buried at Petersham Cemetery and was subsequently relocated to Rookwood when Petersham was closed down.

The Funeral Notice in Trove shows Thomas Keefe - Sarah's son-in-law. [refer https://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/28409823?searchTerm=%22sarah%20corcoran%22#]
