Biography

Ruby was born in 1907. She was the daughter of Archie Fischer Heard, (1887–1931) and Lula Gertrude Reed, (1887–1954).

The 1910 Census^[1] shows her at age 2 in the home of her mother and step-father in Centerview, Johnson County, Missouri.

She married first to Joseph Lester Duncan (1906-1975) sometime in the early 1920's. The marriage did not last. Their child:

• Margaret Louise Duncan (1923-1925)

She married second Waller Scott Maupin (1908-1987) on 20 July 1929 in Jefferson City, Missouri.^[2]

The 1930 Census^[3] shows her at age 22 with her husband in Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri.

The 1940 Census^[4] shows her at age 32 with her husband in Ward 5, Jefferson City, Jefferson Township, Cole County, Missouri.

Waller Scott Maupin died in 1987 in California.

Ruby married third to Thomas Henry Anderson (1907-1994) on 8 May 1993 in Provo, Utah.^[5]

She passed away in 2006 in Utah. ^[6] She was buried next to Waller Scott Maupin in Ashland, Boone County, Missouri. ^[7]

Publication

Ruby was an important Maupin genealogist, publishing "History of the Maupin Family" in 1969.

Research Notes

Her great great grandfather may have been George Herd (abt.1770-abt.1830).

Even though her last marriage was to Thomas Anderson, her last name used in this profile is Maupin, as reflected on her grave marker. This is also the name under which she published the "History of the Maupin Family," and thus is more widely known.
