Biography

Frances Hayman Hearn was born about 1816.
She was the daughter of John Hearn and Agnes Hayman.
Frances became a school teacher.
On the twenty-second of October, 1837, Frances married William Clark at Hertford in Hertfordshire.[1] This union resulted in the birth in July, 1838, of Fanny Clark who died in infancy on the seventh of November, 1839.
William had legal difficulties and wound up in court which followed by his death in 1840.
Frances then married James Gossip, a fellow school teacher, on the thirteenth of February, 1843 at Lambeth St Mary's, Surrey, England.[2] She had more children with James.
Frances immigrated with James and daughter Eliza to New South Wales, Australia on the ship,
"John Gray" as assisted immigrants.[3]
She arrived at Sydney on the twenty-fifth of November, 1852.
Frances and James had their second child in Australia.
In 1884 her husband, James Gossip died (Suicide by hanging).
