Giles Heath, 1826-1862, was born in New York, the son of Asa Heath (1790 MA-1848 NY) and Clarissa Clark (1788 MA-1828 CT). Giles married twice. He had two sons with his first wife, Sarah Jane McClellan (Albert M. and Royal T.). He had three children with his second wife, Elizabeth I. Edwards (Jennie Elizabeth, Frederick L., and Arthur Giles). Giles died in Michigan. [1]

Giles Heath, 24, and Miss Sarah Jane McLellan, 21, were married on Tuesday evening, 28 Mar 1848 in Niles, Berrien, Michigan, at the home of George W. Hoffman. Reverend P.S. Pratt officiated. Witnesses were Mr. and Mrs. R.L. —- and Mr. and Mrs. G.W. Hoffman. All resided in Niles. [2]

Giles Heath died on 19 November 1862. He is buried with his first wife, Sarah Jane, at Silverbrook Cemetery, Niles, Michigan. His second wife, Elizabeth I. (Edwards) is buried with her family in Maine. [9]
