Biography
Nathaniel Heaton was baptized at Habrough, Lincolnshire, England, December 22, 1602, son of William and Elizabeth (Sedgwick) Heaton.[1] He migrated from Alford Parish, Lincolnshire to New England in 1634 on the Griffin.[2][3] His first residence was in Boston.[4]
Nathaniel married Elizabeth Wight, daughter of Robert and Elizabeth (Fulshaw) Wight, April 21, 1630 at Alford, Lincolnshire. Elizabeth married second by 1650 Joseph Pell. She married third after 1650 John Maynard[5][1]
Known children of Nathaniel and Elizabeth, all identified with the last name Heaton, were:[1]

Jabez, baptized Alford, Lincolnshire July 20, 1632; married Experience Meade at Boston, December 4, 1663
Leah, baptized Alford, Lincolnshire, April 13, 1634; married Cornelius Fisher at Dedham, February 22, 1652/3
Eleazar, baptized Boston September 22, 1636; baptized there Oct 2, 1636; d Boston May 28, 1698 apparently unmarried
Nathaniel, born August 31, 1639 at Boston; baptized there Sept 1, 1639; married by 1675 Mary ______ who was born at Dedham May 9, 167[5]
Elizabeth, born Oct 13, 1643, Boston; baptized there October 8, 1643; married by March 1, 1669/70 John Barnes
Note: The Boston Town Records for the children's births give the surname as Eaton whereas the church baptism records give the surname as Heaton.[6]
Nathaniel and his wife, Elizabeth, were admitted to Boston Church on November 2, 1634. He was made a Freeman in Boston on May 25, 1636.[4]
Nathaniel was living June 14, 1648, but died evidently not long after that. His widow Elizabeth had remarried and was again a widow in 1650.[1]

There are baptism records for the children Samuel, Jabez, and Leah in England where the father's name is given as Nathanaelis Heaton (England Births and Christenings, 1538-1975, https://familysearch.org).
According to Anderson, Nathaniel Heaton's parents were William Heaton and Elizabeth (Sedgwick) Heaton. This is also shown in NEHGR 152:446-7. Both sources show different birth and death dates as well. Both articles show this same wife, though.
