1878 Bolton, Lancashire - marriage of Henry Heaton and Margaret Miller[1]
The 1881 census shows that Henry, 26, coal miner, wife Margaret, 26, son John, 1 week old. [2] Their daughter Alice was born in 1886. {Both birth registrations show mother = Miller} There are records suggesting that Margaret died in child birth in the spring of 1887.
Marriage records show Henry marrying Elizabeth Ann Heaton on 7 Feb 1891 at St James, Daisy Hill, Lancaster: Henry Heaton, 35, widower, pointsman, son of John Heaton, farmer, to Elizabeth Ann Heaton, 22, daughter of William Heaton, collier[3]
The 1901 census shows that Henry was born in 1854, the son of Ann (1826) - his occupation was railway signalman - that he was married to Elizabeth A (1868) and had 6 children the eldest of which was John (1881).
